Following the incident of an attack on the Karbi Students’ Association in Kheroni on 15th February, which led to a tense situation, the Hills People’s Cultural Forum has welcomed the decisions made in today’s all-party and all-organization meeting aimed at controlling the situation and resolving the controversial land issue. Today, through a press conference held at their office, the leaders of the organization expressed their endorsement of the decisions taken in the meeting.
At a press conference attended by the organization’s president Laichan Engleng, MAC Fenpiga Rengma, and many other leaders, Laichan Engleng described the decision as unanimous and stated that everyone should accept it. The meeting, organized by the council’s Chief executive member Tuliram Ronghang, was highlighted as taking the right decision. He also called upon everyone to embrace the decision with unity and harmony, as well as to maintain peace and goodwill.
He mentions that since it is now examination time, it is essential for everyone to maintain peace. On the other hand, MAC Fenpiga Rengmai welcomes this decision and calls upon everyone to uphold peace and harmony. Additionally, they highlight that a lot of false news regarding the incident on the 15th has been spread through social media, and they urge everyone to refrain from disseminating such misinformation. Through today’s decision, they express hope for a resolution to the problem and call for unity among all. Furthermore, during this press conference, the organization also appeals for the reopening of all business establishments.
