On Saturday at 8:30 AM, a routine police checkpoint operation in Old Lahorijan, under the Dilai police station, led to the recovery of approximately 1.5 crore rupees worth of suspected heroin. According to reports, during the operation, which was conducted under the leadership of Akash Gogoi from the Dilai police station and with assistance from the Dilai police and Lahorijan outpost staff, a red motorcycle with the registration number AS 25 Y 8576 attempted to flee from the police.

While the police were pursuing the motorcycle, it crashed on its own after traveling a short distance. Upon searching the motorcycle, the police were able to recover 276.91 grams of suspected heroin hidden under the seat in a box containing 23 soap bars.
A supplier from Chaya village in Kamrup district, named Rajab Ali, the son of Samchul Hazarika, has been admitted to Khatkhati Multi-Specialist Hospital following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the recovered heroin has been seized in the presence of neutral witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing.
