Distinguished leftist leader Balo Bora has pitched the above statement in his speech. “Jagaran”, a sturdy protest against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act was raised by more than five hundred people of the historic area Kuruawabahi under Bokakhat Subdivision of Assam at Kuruawabahi High school field on last 28th December.
Before starting a protest rally Balo Bora addressed the public and said that the honorable Supreme Court would certainly listen to the democratic and non-violent raising voice of the Assamese and would surely adjudge in favour of Assam. The protest was arranged by Mamata Gogoi and opened by the speech of Jitu Sarmah Rajkhowa, the President of Assam State Journalists Association. Rajkhowa analyzed the enormities of the Act.
Dr. Ramanand Das, the Chairman of Asom Anusuchit Jati Parishad also inspired the public by his rousing speech. Active CAA protester and peasant leader Soneswar Narah appealed the public in his inspiring speech to raise a long lasting struggle against CAA for the protection of our nation and land. Speakers as youth leader Jitu Saikia, ex youth leader Bubul Dutta, Vice President of Golaghat Zila Sahitya Sabha Kalpana Chetia, President of KMSS, Bokakhat Haren Saikia successively threw their voice against CAA to the gathering.
Appeals as to write down the slogan “we oppose CAA” on an Assamese “Gamocha” and to display it in front of every Assamese house, unconditional rid of peasant leader Akhil Gogoi and ULFA leader Jiten Dutta from police custody were made on the protesting occasion. Poem recitation done by Ipshita Dutta and patriotic song presented by child artists fascinated the crowd. Just after the speeches a massive protest rally was taken out through the historic Kuruawabahi Stra road.
