ASSAM TIMES POST | The Indian Army is known for its endeavors towards providing humanitarian assistance to the needy time to time. In continuation to this noble cause, an Indian Army Unit organised Medical Camp conducting thorough medical checkup of beneficiaries, screening test of Diabetes, Hypertension & Anemia, free distribution of medicines to patients under medication of respective specialists, distribution of essential daily needs to war widows & widows of ex-servicemen in need and distributed ration to Ex Service men and under privileged during this difficult period of COVID-19, The Unit Distributed essential rations at Bakuliya village of East Karbi Anglong on 08th May 2020.
A pamphlets of welfare schemes for Ex service men was also distributed during the event. Interaction with members of Zilla Sainik board including Lecture cum discussion on preventive measures against COVID-19 was also organised. The unit also catered refreshments prior to the culmination of the event.
The beneficiaries of the event includes:
(a) 1 x war widow
(b) 2 x ex-servicemen (Hony Capt)
(c) 5 x widows of ex-servicemen
(d) 23 x ex-servicemen.
The Event received an over-whelming response from Ex servicemen and the authorities requested for similar events in future.
