
On January 18, the Kaliabor region in Assam’s Nagaon district will host a special public meeting featuring the Prime Minister of India. The announcement has stirred widespread enthusiasm and anticipation across the entire area. Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sharma is personally monitoring the progress and details of the grand event. From crowd management to security arrangements, stage construction, traffic control, and overall coordination, the administration is maintaining a state of high alert to ensure flawless execution.
Various government departments are working in close coordination to accelerate all preparations. Key focus areas include ensuring the safety of attendees, managing entry‑exit routes, and strengthening medical support systems. Special arrangements have also been put in place for the helipad, VVIP movements, and media coverage zones, with authorities exercising maximum vigilance.
On Sunday, Modi will travel to Kaliabor to address a major public rally at 11 AM. During the event, he will lay the foundation stone for the 34.5-kilometre elevated corridor between Kaliabor and Bokakhat. The project, estimated to cost Rs 6,957 crore, will be built as a four-lane structure and is expected to significantly enhance regional transportation efficiency.
