In the Borpathar police station area of the Bokajan sub-division, a shocking murder incident occurred last night in the Nambor River tea garden region. Three children were seriously injured in an attack by unidentified assailants. According to reports, last night, the attackers targeted the house of Jullo Munda in the Munda settlement of the Nambor River tea garden, injuring his two daughters—Sita Munda (13) and Mira Munda (11)—along with his son, Shankar Munda (9). Additionally, the group of assailants severely beat Julo Munda and his wife, Panchami Munda, and reportedly abducted them during the night, as informed by their son, Shankar Munda.
Last night, several children who were severely injured in an attack by miscreants have been sent to the Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat for advanced treatment after receiving initial care at the medical facility in Sarupathar, Golaghat district. Meanwhile, search operations for Jullo Munda and Panchami Munda, who have been mysteriously missing since last night, are ongoing. A police team, led by Rustam Raj Brahma, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Bokajan, along with the officer in charge of the Borpathar police station, has continued their efforts in the tea garden near the Numbar River and has successfully recovered two bodies today.
In the course of this police operation, the bodies of Jullu Munda and Panchami Munda were recovered from a coal mining pit located a short distance from their home. Authorities suspect that a group of criminals tied up Jullu and Panchami, placed stones around their necks, and then killed them before abandoning their bodies in the pit. Today, the Bokajan police team, under the supervision of the magistrate of Bokajan sub-division, recovered the two bodies and transported them to the Borpathar police station. They will be sent to the Dibrugarh Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination tomorrow.
It should be noted that the reason behind the unidentified group of assailants attacking the family, resulting in serious injuries to three children and the brutal murder of the parents, is still unknown. The police have already initiated an investigation against the group of assailants, and the true motive behind this heinous crime will only be revealed after the police inquiry.
