On Saturday, a tragic incident occurred at the Kolong River in Chandrapur. Three women from the same family drowned while going to bathe in the river. The victims included a mother and her two daughters. The incident took place near the powerhouse in Chandrapur. The mother, identified as Golapi Devi, along with her two daughters, lost their lives while bathing.
According to reports, on Saturday morning, while they were bathing in the river, the youngest daughter, Pankita Kumari, accidentally fell into the water. In an attempt to rescue her, the older daughter, Nilakshi Kumari, and the mother also fell in. After the incident, the three women were missing for quite some time before their bodies were recovered from the depths of the Kolong River by SDRF and NDRF teams.
