A tragic incident occurred in the Mahakal area of Badarpur, where a water tanker suffered a chassis failure, leading to a fatal accident. The victim, Nazmul Hussain Laskar from Hailakandi, was trapped and killed instantly when he was caught between the tanker and its cabin.

The water tanker, bearing the registration AS/24/AC/1362, was owned by Binny Construction, a contractor associated with Assam Mala. Witnesses suggest that the accident was likely due to the vehicle’s dilapidated state.
Although local residents managed to extract the driver from the wreckage, they quickly transported the co-driver to a hospital for medical attention. When Badarpur police arrived at the scene, community members placed Laskar’s body on the road to protest, demanding compensation for his grieving family.
