Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam in February 2025 to attend two major events: the Mega Jhumur Performance and the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit. The visit follows an invitation from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who announced the news on Twitter after meeting with the Prime Minister in New Delhi to discuss various developmental initiatives for the state.

“Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege to receive PM Narendra Modi’s guidance on various developmental issues. On behalf of the people of Assam, I also had the pleasure to invite him to bless the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit and Mega Jhumur Performance in February 2025, which he has kindly accepted to grace,” wrote CM Sarma.
The Mega Jhumur Performance promises to be a vibrant celebration of Assam’s rich cultural heritage, featuring Jhumur, a traditional dance linked to the state’s tea garden communities. This cultural event aims to spotlight Assam’s diverse and colorful traditions, offering a glimpse into its artistic vibrancy to audiences across the nation.
Concurrently, the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit seeks to underscore the region’s potential as a key destination for industrial and infrastructural developments. By attracting investments, the summit hopes to position Assam as a thriving hub for economic growth. The participation of PM Modi is anticipated to elevate the importance of the summit, drawing national attention and enhancing the prospects for fruitful outcomes.
As the events draw closer, preparations are expected to ramp up, with Assam endeavoring to ensure the success of both the summit and the cultural celebration. These initiatives reflect Assam’s ambition to become a focal point for both investment and cultural heritage in 2025, highlighting the region as a dynamic and forward-looking state on the national stage.
