In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 14-year-old student was killed instantly in a catastrophic road accident near the village of Be-Nupak in the Phuloni area of Karbi Anglong district. The tragedy occurred on the national highway when a ten-wheeler truck, bearing the registration number AS 27 C 7462, struck a cyclist from behind. The young boy, who was riding his bicycle, was reportedly heading in the same direction as the truck when the collision took place.
According to sources close to the incident, the victim was a student of class nine from Lonki Hanse village, engaged in his studies and known by his community. The news of the accident quickly reached the authorities, prompting an immediate response from the police at the Uttar Borbil Sub-Station. Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances leading to the student’s untimely demise. As part of the investigative procedures, the deceased student’s body was sent to Diphu Medical College for an autopsy.
