
The additional district and sessions judge’s court has announced a strict ruling against drug suppliers who are gradually pushing the new generation of society towards destruction. Following this, on March 29, in two separate cases under the NDPS Act, three accused were found guilty and sentenced to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of one lakh. Today, the additional district and sessions judge, Geetali Rabha, issued another historic ruling.

Today, the Khatkhati Police Station issued a final verdict sentencing another supplier to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment. According to additional public prosecutor Sanjay Kumar Yadav, who spoke to reporters, the court of the additional district judge in Diphu, presided over by Judge Geetali Rabha, has sentenced a man to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment.
Today, the District and Sessions Judge in the Gitali Rabha court sentenced Nawaz Khan to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 1 lakh rupees under section 21(c) of the NDPS Act, after concluding the final hearing of case number 10/2023 and case number 96/2022 from the Khatkhati police station. The judgment was given after taking witness testimonies into account. The additional public prosecutor highlighted that the actions of District Police Superintendent Sanjiv Saikia were commendable in this case. Furthermore, in the event of non-payment of the fine, an additional 6 months of simple imprisonment was imposed.
Notably, on November 11, 2022, the Khatkhati police set up a special checkpoint near the Khatkhati Matipul railway crossing based on a tip-off. During this time, a person named Nawaz Khan was crossing the railway tracks carrying an airbag. The police team, conducting a coordinated operation, stopped Nawaz Khan and conducted a search, uncovering 684.56 grams of suspected heroin hidden in 55 plastic soap boxes inside his airbag. Today’s ruling by the district and sessions judge, Geetali Rabha, has received widespread acclaim from the community.
