The Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam, has announced the launch of Khel Maharan 2.0, which is set to commence on November 13, 2024. Building on the success of the previous year, this year’s event aims to be more inclusive and far-reaching, targeting grassroots participation to offer a competitive platform for all aspiring athletes.
Registrations for Khel Maharan 2.0 are open from September 30, 2024, and can be completed via the Khel Maharan app, available on Google Play.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the event’s significance in promoting sportsmanship and unity among Assam’s youth. “Khel Maharan 2.0 is not just a sports event; it’s a celebration of our community’s spirit and talent,” he remarked.
The event will feature various sports disciplines, including:
- Athletics: 100m, 200m, 400m races, and long jump
- Football
- Kabaddi
- Volleyball
- Dodan
- Chess
- Swimming
- Road Cycling with Traditional Cycles
