Another heinous incident has shaken Assam Medical College . A dreadful act has taken place at the Assam Medical College. Recently, information about such an incident has come to light. According to reports, a mentally challenged young woman was raped at the Assam Medical College. She fell victim to the lust of an employee working at the medical college under an organization named BDM Enterprise.
Later, as the details of the incident came to light, the accused Mujibur Rahman was caught in the police net. Dibrugarh police have revealed that Mujibur Rahman’s residence is in Hajo. The apprehended Mujibur was working as a supervisor for a company named BDM at the Assam Medical College and Hospital. On the night of July 26, Mujibur lured a mentally challenged young woman and took advantage of the darkness to rape her in a secluded area of the hospital. Other employees witnessed him committing this heinous act.
A commotion erupted immediately within the medical premises. Subsequently, the authorities of the organization where Mujibur was employed filed a report with the police regarding the incident, leading to Mujibur’s arrest. The police registered a case under section 64(2)(k) 2023 of the Indian Penal Code with case number 292/24 at Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station and have already arrested Mujibur. On Friday night, Mujibur raped the young woman in the casualty unit of the medical college hospital.
It is noteworthy that the young woman in question had been wandering around the Assam Medical College Hospital for the past 15 years. Staff from various departments of the medical college used to provide her with food and take care of her, as she was mentally disturbed. However, the sudden incident where she became a victim of sexual assault has not been easily accepted by the public. The event has caused widespread uproar in Dibrugarh.
