In an event that has cast a dark shadow over a family in Madhya Pradesh, a nine-year-old boy, Ashish Rajput, lost his life while trying to save his disabled father during a catastrophic explosion at a fireworks factory. This tragic occurrence took place near the Harda district of Madhya Pradesh on February 6th, and has left the Rajput family engulfed in profound grief.
The boy’s father, Sanjay Rajput, is struggling with the pain of this loss, lamenting over the sacrifice his son made for him. Sanjay recounts, “When Ashish was just a month old, I was bedridden due to an accident. The first time he held my finger at the age of two months, I felt I had found my support. He grew up seeing me in a wheelchair, enduring tough times, and became my pillar of strength at such a young age. Now, without him, I wonder on whom I can rely?”
Ashish’s funeral was held under a somber atmosphere last Saturday in the village of Shivpur, Sihoni Malwa. The young boy had just returned from showing his father at the hospital when the explosion occurred. As Ashish was assisting his father from the scooter to the wheelchair, the explosion sent debris flying like missiles, and a stone struck Ashish on the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Sanjay too was hit but initially, both were admitted to a private hospital in Narmadapuram.
However, as Ashish’s condition worsened, he was transferred to AIIMS Bhopal, where he succumbed to his injuries on the night of Friday. This has left Sanjay, a driver by profession, inconsolable, especially since February 9th marked what would have been Ashish’s birthday. “I am a driver. Ashish was born in February 2014. But in March of the same year, an accident near Budni rendered the lower half of my body paralyzed. While others might have seen me as handicapped, Ashish always saw me differently. He understood the family’s struggles and my challenges. When I was too tired to manage the shop, Ashish would take care of it. Now that he’s gone, we are at a loss on what to do next,” Sanjay expressed with deep sorrow.
In relation to the explosion at the fireworks factory, two managers were arrested on the fourth day following the incident. So far, five individuals have been apprehended. The police reported that the accused, Ashish Tamkhane and Aman Tamkhane, both served as managers at the factory.
The entire community is mourning the loss of a brave young soul who displayed extraordinary courage and love for his father. The Rajput family’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the profound impact of such tragedies on the loved ones left behind.
As investigations continue and authorities work to unravel the cause of the explosion, the conversation turns towards the safety regulations and enforcement in such hazardous industries. The tragic death of Ashish Rajput has not only brought immense sadness but also sparked discussions on the need for stricter oversight to prevent future calamities.
The Rajput family, amidst their mourning, calls for justice and measures to ensure no other family endures the immense pain they are going through. The memory of Ashish, a young hero, will forever be etched in their hearts and the community that witnessed his ultimate act of love and bravery.
