At Guwahati railway station in Assam, the GRP and Railway Protection Force were able to prevent multiple smuggling operations, confiscating gold, heroin, and unauthorized medical supplies.
In the initial instance, two gold biscuits with a total mass of approximately 328 grams were taken away from the Avadh Assam Express.Khan, a known smuggler, was caught transporting gold unlawfully from Manipur, a nearby state. Another raid conducted on the Tripura Sundari Express yielded six packages of heroin.
The GRP and RPF caught Sagar Bardhan and Ravi Roy, thought to be dealers of illegal drugs, for attempting to smuggle narcotics from Agartala. Consequently, further surveillance at Kamakhya Railway Station resulted in Rahul Das and Niton Ali being apprehended for attempting to move illegal medical supplies valued at more than Rs. 12 lakh.
