On the evening of January 11, 2026, a decisive action by Khatkhati police led to the detention of two individuals suspected of heroin possession in a well-coordinated operation based on confidential intelligence. At approximately 7:30 PM, Assam Police intercepted and apprehended two men near Four Lane, Kaliram Bosti, close to the Railway Over Bridge in Khatkhati, marking a significant breakthrough in the fight against narcotics in the region.

The detained individuals have been identified as Billal Uddin, son of the late Ismail Ali, resident of Solapothar Gaon, PS Dhing, District Nagaon, and Nur Hussain Ali, son of Allal Uddin, a resident of Maruwa, District Karimganj. Both suspects were residing in Kaliram Bosti at the time of their arrest, indicating their local presence and possible involvement in illicit activities in the area.
During the operation, police seized a total of 65 plastic tobacco storage container caps suspected to be filled with heroin, with a net weight of approximately 4.19 grams. Additionally, a sum of Rs 3,600/- was recovered from the suspects’ possession, potentially linked to drug transactions. This seizure is a vital development in the local crackdown on drug trafficking, underscoring the vigilance and efficiency of the Khatkhati police force.
