Gaurav Gogoi, a Member of Parliament and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, has been appointed as the president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) as of Monday. KC Venugopal, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), confirmed this appointment in an official statement, stating that Gogoi has taken on the role of chief of the Assam Congress.

Additionally, the AICC has named three new working presidents: Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Roselina Tirkey, and Pradip Sarkar, further expanding the leadership team within the organization. The appointments mark a strategic move for the Congress party in Assam, as it aims to strengthen its position in the region.
