In a landmark event today, the Chief Minister’s ambitious “NijutMoina Scheme” was officially inaugurated at the Khanapara Veterinary College Ground. This initiative, titled with the inspiring slogan “Another Step Towards Empowering Students,” aims to provide substantial financial support to female students pursuing higher and secondary education across the state.

The inaugural ceremony marks a significant milestone in the state’s educational landscape as 1,59,093 students are set to receive financial grants under this scheme. The “Nijut Moina Ambitious Scheme” is designed to uplift female students by easing the financial burdens associated with their educational pursuits. It exemplifies the state government’s commitment to promoting higher education among women, ensuring they have the necessary resources to achieve academic excellence.
The scheme’s rollout is a pivotal moment for education in the region, as it represents a dedicated effort to bridge the gender gap in educational opportunities. The Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has taken a proactive role in this initiative, personally overseeing the central distribution of funds at Khanapara. The presence of Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu further underscores the government’s resolve to enhance educational prospects for female students.
Under the “Nijut Moina” scheme, a substantial financial aid package totaling 240 crore rupees will be distributed as the first installment. This financial assistance will be allocated to 57,635 students in higher education and 1,01,458 students in secondary education. The distribution of these funds is meticulously organized, with legislators overseeing the process in each legislative assembly constituency. This ensures that the benefits of the scheme reach every corner of the state, fostering an environment of inclusivity and equal opportunity.
The financial grants are specifically targeted at female students from the districts of Kamrup, Kamrup (Metropolitan), and Morigaon, emphasizing the government’s focus on empowering young women in these regions. By addressing the financial challenges faced by female students, the “Nijut Moina” scheme aims to inspire a new generation of educated women who can contribute significantly to their communities and the broader society.
