
On September 3, the Special Narcotics Police Station team under the CID Crime unit seized a massive 41.234 kg of suspected methamphetamine worth Rs 5,36,04,200 at Lungverh, Sakawrtuichhun area in Aizawl. Acting on detailed intelligence inputs, the personnel conducted a meticulously planned operation which culminated in the arrest of five individuals connected to the illicit drug trade.

The detained suspects are Edenthara, 27, a resident of Zemabawk; Rochharliana, 38, and Vanlalvunga, 47, both from Champhai District; Nasir Uddin, 34, from Assam’s Karimganj; and Anurul Haque, 37, a resident of North Tripura. The seizure of drugs and the apprehensive actions taken by the team underscore the sophisticated coordination and alertness of the police force in combating narcotics trafficking in the region.
Following the recovery and the arrests, a case was promptly registered by the Special Narcotics PS under the ND&PS Act to initiate further legal proceedings. The authorities have since launched a comprehensive investigation targeting both backward and forward linkages of the drug network, aiming to dismantle the larger criminal operation connected to this significant seizure.
