Guwahati : Close on the heel of a huge quantity of gold biscuits worth Rs 8 crore seized in Assam yesterday, another four gold biscuits valued at Rs 25.75 lakh were recovered at Lokpriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Thursday from a plane passenger suspected to be a rectum carrier of smuggled gold, police said.

CISF personnel during security checking nabbed the person as he was to board a flight to Delhi and recovered the gold biscuits weighting 664 gram hidden in his rectum, police said.
The person identified as Ajmal Ali as per his Aadhaar card was handed over by CISF to police which arrested him in this regard.
Yesterday a huge quantity of gold biscuits weighing 18.5 kg valued at approximately Rs 8 crore concealed in the chassis of a vehicle were seized by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) with the help of police at Manja in central Assam’s Karbi Anglong district and two persons were arrested in this connection.
The two persons were attempting to smuggle the gold pieces towards Guwahati from Imphal in Manipur, police said.
