Ending all speculations, leading Mobile Theatre group Rajmukut Theatre’s ‘Birikhor Birina’ was able to have the last laugh at Nalbari Raas Festival’s Great Battle of Mobile Theatres. The much discussed play by young playwright Rajdweep was able to prove its excellence at Nalbari Raas.
It may be noted that a competition was announced among the Theatre groups invited at Nalbari Raas Festival for providing assistance to Nalbari’s Shri Shri Hari Mandir. The competition was announced for the first time at the Nalbari Raas and a prize of Rs. 1 lakh was fixed for the ‘Best Play’. The seven participating Theatre groups made intense preparations for winning the above mentioned prize.
There was a lot of speculation. However, the awards were officially announced yesterday and the Rajmukut Theater received the honor. It may be noted that Rajmukut Theatre has set the record for the highest gross and highest ticket sales with 11 performances in just four days at the Nalbari Raas Festival.
It is of special significance that a young playwright’s play has excelled in this manner at the Nalbari Raas Festival. The play by young playwright Rajdweep has strongly established itself by refuting the frequently raised allegations against Mobile theatre of the influence of syndicates. It is worth mentioning that the theatre loving audience were already hopeful for the play ‘Birikhor Birina’.
The theater group achieved enviable success in selling tickets due to the support of the audience. But taking advantage of such success and popularity, some malicious parties became active. Even such evildoers had printed and sold fake tickets for the play ‘Birikhor Birina’. A member of such a malicious group was even caught by the organizers.
Therefore, overcoming many such challenges and conspiracies, the Rajmukut Theatre’s play was able to have the last laugh at the Nalbari Raas Festival. The play has received widespread acclaim in different parts of the state this year and the rush of crowds in almost every pavilion are a good sign for the theater industry as a whole. The play with its strong storyline and original concept has touched the audience.
The unconventional love story of Birikh and Birina is now widely talked about. The Rajmukut Theatre family is naturally ecstatic at the success achieved at Nalbari Raas Festival. Earlier, Rajdweep’s play ‘Birikhor Birina’ also had won Best Popular Play of the year at Nebcus National Award.
