Today, the District and Sessions Judge Court in Haatshingimari, South Salmarah-Mancachar district, delivered a historic verdict. The esteemed court convicted 14 individuals on murder charges and sentenced them to life imprisonment. It is noteworthy that the murder incident occurred on March 13, 2021, in the Purani Diyar area under the jurisdiction of the Mancachar police station. In connection with this incident, a case was registered at the Mancachar police station under sections 447, 326/302/34 of the Indian Penal Code, numbered 18/2021.

Isham Gani, who was accused of being involved in the murder case, has died in jail after falling seriously ill. The other accused individuals had received bail, but on November 19, the honorable court found 14 of them guilty and remanded them to judicial custody for two days. The final verdict was scheduled to be announced on November 21.
Similarly, today, the South Salmara-Mancachar District Court sentenced 14 individuals to life imprisonment, along with a fine of 10,000 rupees. A somber atmosphere was created in the court as the sentenced individuals were taken away.
It is noteworthy that today, those accused in a murder case have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The accused include Omar Faruk, Rofiqul Islam, Ashuruddin, Ujir Mohammad, Shah Jamal, Alia Bibi, Kamal Akand, Rofiqul Haque, Samrat Akand, Rana Akand, Rasul Uddin, Akkas Ali, Nazrul Islam, and Shadwal Akand.
It is noteworthy that the family of Rof Al Hasan, the son of Mahakkar Hasan from the village of Purana Diyar in the Mancachar police station area, filed a case stating that he was killed by the mentioned accused due to a land-related conflict. The court proceedings have been ongoing for the past three years.
