
In a tragic incident in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district, 12 people, including eight children, lost their lives in a road accident involving a bus and a tempo near Sunipur along the National Highway. The victims, who were returning from a pre-wedding event, included Irfan Abdul Bunty (38), his wife Julie (34), and their children—Asma (14) and Salman (8)—along with Parveen (32), Zareena (35), and children Saqir (6), Sanif (9), Ajaan (5), Aashiyaana (10), Sufi (7), and Danish (10).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Additionally, Rs 50,000 will be provided to those injured in the accident. Taking to X, the Prime Minister’s Office conveyed Modi’s sympathies, describing the accident as “heartbreaking,” and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The PMO also assured that the state government and local administration are providing all possible assistance to the victims.
The accident occurred late Saturday night when a bus traveling from Gwalior to Jaipur collided with the tempo. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges in road safety and the urgent need for enhanced measures to prevent such tragedies.
This somber event has prompted responses from national leaders, emphasizing support for the affected families and calling attention to road safety issues across the country. The government’s financial assistance aims to provide some relief to the families suffering from this immense loss.
