In a significant breakthrough, the Assam Police successfully apprehended a drug trafficker early Wednesday morning, seizing suspected heroin worth an estimated ₹2 crore. The operation took place at the Khakrajan checkpoint under the jurisdiction of Borpathar Police Station in Bokajan sub-division.

The supplier attempted to transport heroin from Dimapur to Golaghat in a WagonR bearing the number AS02 H6637. The drugs were hidden in a secret compartment. During a police search, they successfully seized 298.58 grams of heroin concealed in 22 soap boxes within the vehicle.
In this context, the police have arrested Ashikur Rahman of Lali Pathar under Dhing police station in Nagaon district with heroin. According to the police, the international market value of the seized heroin is estimated to be around 2 crore rupees. The police have informed that the investigation is ongoing to gather more information.
