In a recent operation, Assam police apprehended Kamalrani Dhaka, a businesswoman, for her alleged association with the militant group, National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN). Dhaka was nabbed in Merapani, located within Golaghat district, based on credible intelligence.

Sources have disclosed that Dhaka, with NSCN’s assistance, allegedly seized two dumper trucks from another businessman, identified as Pawan Khaliya. The exact details and motives behind this seizure are still under investigation. The arrest took place on Monday night, and Dhaka has been brought in for further questioning.
This arrest follows a similar operation last month where an active Over Ground Worker (OGW) of NSCN-K was detained by the Indian Army and Assam Police in Margherita, Tinsukia district. The coordinated effort in Tikok village led to the apprehension, underlining the ongoing efforts to curb militant activities in the region.
In a related development, two NSCN (U) cadres recently surrendered in Arunachal Pradesh, signaling potential cracks within the militant organization’s ranks.
These incidents highlight the persistent efforts of security forces to dismantle militant networks and bring those involved to justice in Assam and surrounding areas.
