
The counting of votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections started at 8 AM today, where a total of 682441 voters will determine the fate of 5 candidates. The vote counting for the sole parliamentary seat of the No. 6 Diphu Tribal Lok Sabha constituency has commenced at the ISBT located at 5 Mile in Diphu.

The counting of postal ballots commenced first. A total of 5505 people voted through postal ballots. Through the ETPBS system, 1018 voters cast their votes, out of which 662 ETPBS votes were received. In the strong room of ISBT Diphu, the counting for Diphu assembly constituency will take place over 17 rounds. The vote counting for Howraghat assembly constituency will conclude in 18 rounds.
The Bokajan Assembly constituency will conduct 15 rounds of vote counting at the Bokajan Higher Secondary School counting center. Similarly, 19 rounds of vote counting will be held at the counting center in the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Haflong Assembly constituency. Likewise, in the Amri and Rongkhang Assembly constituencies of West Karbi Anglong district, there will be 15 rounds of vote counting. In the Diphu Lok Sabha constituency, out of a total of 90,132 eligible voters, 68,241 cast their votes, resulting in a voter turnout of 75.74 percent.
