An official announcement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday indicated that President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to tour Meghalaya and Assam from the 15th to the 17th of January. According to the statement, the president is set to launch the Meghalaya Games at the P A Sangma Stadium in Tura come Monday.
She is making her inaugural trip to Meghalaya since taking on presidential duties. On the 16th of January, she is scheduled to speak to self-help group representatives at Baljek Airport in Tura and will also remotely inaugurate the construction of the new Integrated Administration Complex, according to the announcement.
On the identical date, President Murmu is scheduled to speak to an assembly in Mawphlang and, through a virtual ceremony, will launch the enhanced Rongjeng Mangsang Adokgre Road and the improved Mairang Ranigodown Azra Road. Additionally, she will initiate the groundwork for the Shillong Peak Cable Car and visitor lodging facilities in the communities of Kongthong, Mawlyngot, and Kudengrim.
The schedule indicates that this evening, the president is set to be the guest of honor at a social gathering organized by the Meghalaya government, which will take place at the Raj Bhavan in Shillong. Further details were provided stating that on January 17th, President Murmu is slated to participate in the 50th-anniversary festivities of the Karbi Youth Festival, which will be held in Taralangso, Diphu, located in the state of Assam.
