Lat Mandal Achyut Das, who works at the Revenue Circle office in Guwahati, Kamrup (Metro), was arrested on August 19 by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
He is facing charges of corruption. Similarly, on August 17, Debashish Barman, a Lat Mandal at Tihu Revenue Circle in Assam’s Nalbari, was apprehended by the same authorities for soliciting and accepting a bribe through broker Nayan Barman. The anti-corruption cell also detained Nayan Barman, the owner of a computer shop.
