
The Assam Cabinet, in a decisive move on February 23, 2025, sanctioned pivotal initiatives aimed at propelling infrastructure, healthcare, and industrial growth in the state. A paramount decision was the approval of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) totaling Rs 1,22,000 crore, anticipated to be formalized during the forthcoming Advantage Assam summit. These substantial investments are poised to invigorate Assam’s economic landscape and generate employment.

Addressing urban congestion, the cabinet sanctioned the construction of a flyover at Amolapatty junction on the old NH-37 in Dibrugarh City. Additionally, Rs 55.45 crore has been earmarked for urban infrastructure enhancements in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
In healthcare, the cabinet endorsed the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) Scheme, 2025, aimed at fostering the career progression of medical college faculty, thus ensuring their retention within the state’s medical infrastructure.
The textile sector also received a boost with the approval of the Textiles and Apparel Policy, Assam, 2025. This policy seeks to create an investor-friendly climate by facilitating access to raw materials and manpower, thereby encouraging new investments within the textile and apparel industry.
Further, the biotechnology sector witnessed policy revisions under the state’s Biotechnology Policy (2022-2027). These amendments aim to cultivate a favorable environment for biotechnology research, industry, and entrepreneurship, aligning with the BioE3 Policy framework.
These decisions collectively underscore Assam’s commitment to comprehensive state development, enhancing the quality of life for its residents and establishing a robust foundation for future economic progress.
