Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma affirmed the state government’s dedication to nurturing young scientific talent on September 22. Highlighting the commitment to fostering intellectual growth, Sarma announced that five promising students from Assam have embarked on an educational journey to Cambridge University, UK. This initiative is part of the state’s flagship ‘Bigyan Pratibha Sandhan’ program.
“Under this initiative, we are encouraging bright minds in Assam by providing them with the right opportunities,” stated Sarma. This fully-sponsored trip aims to offer international exposure to young scholars, thereby enhancing their scientific knowledge and broadening their academic horizons.
The chosen students—Jahnabi Priya Nath from Darrang, Kongkon Borah from Dibrugarh, Lakshya Kalita from Majuli, Manjay Nandi from Nagaon, and Nikita Neog from Golaghat—are currently participating in the third phase of the program. This exposure to Cambridge University is expected to significantly contribute to their academic and professional development.
