In a significant move aimed at bolstering the safety and security of one of the region’s most esteemed institutions, the Diphu Medical College & Hospital today saw the inauguration of a new Police Patrol-Post. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, alongside other notable dignitaries. This initiative is set to play a crucial role in addressing the growing concerns related to campus security and creating a safer environment for students, staff, and visitors alike.

The newly established Police Patrol-Post is strategically located within the premises of Diphu Medical College & Hospital, a decision that underscores the institution’s commitment to safeguarding its community. The presence of a dedicated police unit on campus is expected to act as a strong deterrent against potential criminal activities and provide rapid response capabilities in case of emergencies.
The CEM, in his address during the inauguration, emphasized the critical need for such a facility in an institution of this stature. “Ensuring the safety and security of our academic institutions is paramount. This Patrol-Post will not only enhance security but also instill a sense of confidence and peace of mind among the students and faculty,” he remarked.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Amarsing Tisso, Member of Parliament, and MLA Darsing Ronghang and Bidya Sing Engleng. Also in attendance were esteemed colleagues from the Executive Members (EMs) and Members of Autonomous Councils (MACs), along with Mrs. Nirola Phangchopi, District Commissioner of Diphu, Dr. Sumitra Hagjer, Principal of Diphu Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), and Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Saikia, Superintendent of Police, Diphu.
