On Sunday, four individuals were apprehended in Guwahati for having heroin valued at more than Rs 2 crore. According to a senior police officer, a team from Jorabat outpost under Basistha police station was alerted about the incident and subsequently set up a checkpoint on the eastern entry point to the city.
Upon searching the car, 251.2 gm of heroin was discovered and the four passengers were arrested. In addition, six mobile phones and Rs 1.16 lakh in cash were confiscated. Further investigation is currently being conducted.
