On August 16, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the recently inaugurated Na-Ali Railway over Bridge in Jorhat and announced that a total of 1,400 crore worth of roads, bridges, and highways are under construction in the district. This development comes after Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced on June 5 the initiation of four highway projects in Assam, with an investment of Rs 1450 crores, to boost the state’s infrastructure.

The Union Minister virtually inaugurated the 4-Lane highway section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara, while also laying the foundation for the Mangaldai Bypass and the 4-lane section between Daboka-Parakhuwa in Assam.
The 18 km long 4-lane section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara has been constructed at a cost of Rs 403 crore. This expanded highway will improve connectivity between North Assam and Upper Assam, leading to economic growth and creating employment opportunities.
