Karbi Anglong: Acting on the basis of specific info, received from credible sources regarding Betsing Jidung alias Master alias John Dimasa Jidung who was moving in the general area of Dhansiri OP, a joint party of Karbi Anglong police and 12 Garhwal an ambush was laid at Kherbari and apprehended the cadre along with one 9mm pistol, one 9mm magazine and three 9mm RDS ammunition. Betsing Jidung alias John Dimasa Jidung alias Master (24), son of Sharma Jidung of village Daudikho, Samnala under Diphu PS. He has been a cadre of the UPLF group and was an active member from July,2014 and surrendered in 2016.
The cadre again joined the DNLA outfit in Jan, 2019. The trained cadre is responsible for recruitment and training of the new cadres joining the said outfit and specializes in weapon handling and jungle tactics. His rank is corporal and appointed as training instructor bearing army no. 1991.
He has also been involved in extortion and arms deal between the NSCN (IM) under whose aegis the DNLA has taken shelter. He had also featured in a video released by the outfit in which the said (Betsing Jidung) was seen talking of uniting the Dimasa people and building of a separate state for the Dimasas. Regarding this further interrogation and investigation is going on.
