Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Wednesday that Rahul Gandhi, a leader in Congress, will face arrest following the Lok Sabha elections due to an FIR lodged against him for allegedly inciting violence.

Without any initial complaint, the Assam police initiated a formal report against Congress member Rahul Gandhi and various other party figures for engaging in reckless violent behavior during the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ organized by the party on Tuesday. “An official report has been lodged. The inquiry will be carried out by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections, he (Gandhi) will be taken into custody,” Sarma remarked while attending an event in Nazira, located in the Sibsagar district.
Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged against members of the Congress party under various IPC sections, encompassing charges of criminal conspiracy, participating in an illegal gathering, rioting, attacking or exerting criminal force to obstruct public servants from performing their duties, destroying public property, and other offenses.
