During a standard checkpoint inspection at 6:45 AM today on National Highway 36 at Dillai Tini Ali,in Karbi Anglong District within the jurisdiction of Dillai Police Station, authorities intercepted a Scorpio with the registration number AS11U-2693. Upon a detailed search, officers found 45 plastic soap containers holding what is believed to be Heroin, with an estimated market value of Rs 2 crore.
The drugs, totaling 519.68 grams, were cleverly stashed beneath the vehicle. The driver, 39-year-old Md. Ajibur Rahman, and the owner, 27-year-old Md. Musidul Islam, both hailing from Nagaon, Assam, were detained. The operation was directed by the Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) of Diphu, Karbi Anglong, and all requisite legal procedures are now underway.
