{"id":9236,"date":"2019-11-17T21:55:52","date_gmt":"2019-11-17T16:25:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-440531-1379741.cloudwaysapps.com\/?p=9236"},"modified":"2019-11-17T21:55:52","modified_gmt":"2019-11-17T16:25:52","slug":"neso-announces-protest-against-cab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assamtimespost.in\/?p=9236","title":{"rendered":"NESO announces protest against CAB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-8671\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wordpress-440531-1379741.cloudwaysapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/logo_atp-199x300-199x300.jpg?resize=19%2C29&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"29\" title=\"\"> <span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>ASSAM TIMES POST<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Guwahati :<\/strong> The North East Students&#8217; Organisation (NESO) Sunday announced to hold protest marches against the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) across all the states in the region on Monday.<br \/>\nAll Assam Students&#8217; Union (AASU), which is a major constituent of the NESO, and other seven member organisations will hold their demonstrations in front of the respective Raj Bhawans in all the states.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Through each Governor, the protesters will submit memorandums to the Prime Minister and Home Minister against the Bill, which is strictly against the indigenous people of the region,&#8221; an official release said.<br \/>\nThe CAB is an outcome of severe injustice meted out to the people of this region, it added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;North East is not a dustbin of illegal Bangladeshi people. Under no circumstances, CAB will be accepted. Our protest against the anti-indigenous CAB will continue,&#8221; the statement said.<br \/>\nThe BJP is bringing in the CAB only to garner votes of the illegal Bangladeshis and the ruling party is going ahead with the decision on the CAB on the back of their numbers in Parliament, it alleged.<br \/>\nThe member organisations of the NESO are AASU, KSU, GSU, AMSU, NSF, TSF, AAPSU and MZP.<br \/>\nThe Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on January 8 but was not tabled in Rajya Sabha, seeks to provide Indian citizenship to Hindus, Jains, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan after six years of residence in India even if they do not possess any document.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ASSAM TIMES POST Guwahati : The North East Students&#8217; Organisation (NESO) Sunday announced to hold protest marches against the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) across all the states in the region on Monday.
