I think this success has been inspirational not only for our team, but every filmmaker of the region\u2019, says noted lyricist, screenwriter and playwright Rajdweep, who has been the songwriter of the much-talked Assamese film \u2018Local Utpaat\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n Local Utpaat, a comedy film directed by Kenny D Basumatary, has been released all over Assam on 13th May and still running successfully. The film already becomes a hit amidst the big fight at the box office against Ranveer Singh starrer Bollywood film \u2018Jayeshbhai Jordaar\u2019 and the Hollywood movie \u2018Doctor Strange\u2019. But making everyone surprised the Assamese movie \u2018Local Utpaat\u2019 beats both the big budget at the box office and emerges as a big hit. As per the box office numbers, Local Utpaat has earned more than \u2018Jayeshbhai Jordaar\u2019 and \u2018Doctor Strange\u2019 in its first week in Assam.<\/span><\/p>\n While talking to Rajdweep on this success, who happens to be one of the most popular and successful playwright and lyricist of the region, he says, \u2018This success is big and it will be motivating our local filmmakers to make great films based on great contents\u2019. It is to be noted that Assamese film industry has been going through a tough time since quite a long time. But in recent years, we see films like Mission China, Kanchanjangha, Ratnakar etc have done brilliant job at the box office and made the audience attracted towards the Assamese language films. Now adding another hit to this list, Local Utpaat becomes the much talked film of cine-goers in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n One of the biggest struggles for Assamese Cinema has been the low number of theatres. Addressing the issue Rajdweep says, \u2018Yes, the issue of theatre is there. But we have to continue fighting with good contents and good films. I have been very much hopeful about our films.\u2019 He also informs that \u2018Local Utpaat\u2019 will be releasing in other cities of the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Kolkata, Bangalore. The noted screenwriter also has been very much hopeful for his upcoming big budget film \u2018Dr Bezbaruah 2\u2019, starring Adil Hussain, Zubeen Garg, Nipon Goswami, Siddhartha Goswami.
