A<\/span> team of Cockroach Janta Party<\/a> (CJP) leaders, led by co\u2011founder Ashutosh Ranka, was attacked and driven out of Rampura Kanwarpura village in Jaipur\u2019s Bagru assembly area on Friday, August 21, 2026, while attempting to inspect a government primary school, party sources said. Dramatic video from the village showed a crowd confronting, abusing and physically assaulting the CJP team as they tried to enter the settlement.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Ranka told reporters the volunteers had been invited by villagers to inspect a school that, he said, has been operating for years from a cowshed or buffalo shed. He said the group had informed the police of the visit but were met by what he described as BJP \u201cgoons\u201d already present in the village. \u201cOur volunteers were assaulted. Our cars were smashed, phones were broken, a woman was assaulted, my shirt was torn, and one of our team members suffered a fractured hand,\u201d Ranka said.<\/span><\/p>\n

CJP co\u2011worker Shivangi Sharma, who was part of the inspection team, alleged that women were beaten and that members were called \u201cPakistani\u201d, \u201cNaxal\u201d and \u201coutsiders.\u201d \u201cI am from this area, born and brought up here. How can they call us outsiders within our own country?\u201d she told the Press Trust of India.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ranka also posted on X (formerly Twitter) that outside elements had been brought in to incite violence and alleged a local BJP councillor was seen distributing money to some attackers. The CJP has blamed the BJP for orchestrating the assault.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BJP\u2019s Jaipur MLA Swami Balmukundacharya said villagers objected to the CJP visit and did not allow them to enter, adding that locals reject the party\u2019s approach and accused it of trying to disrupt children\u2019s education. Some protesters who claimed to be villagers questioned the CJP\u2019s motives and pointed to local development deficits, saying the area lacks basic facilities such as roads and schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

The incident sparked an uproar in the Rajasthan Assembly, with Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara accusing the BJP of responsibility, while Rajasthan Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedam countered that the Congress was creating trouble under the cover of the CJP.
