Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and author-filmmaker Tahira Kashyap have contributed to the Assam Chief Minister\u2019s Flood Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation for people affected by the recent devastating floods in the state. The couple\u2019s donation \u2014 the amount of which has not been disclosed \u2014 is intended to assist ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations as thousands of families remain displaced across several districts.<\/span><\/p>\n Assam continues to grapple with widespread flood damage, with many residents losing homes, livelihoods and essential belongings. The Khurrana-Kashyap contribution arrives while state and central agencies, volunteers and humanitarian organisations carry out relief work in affected areas.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking about their decision, Ayushmann and Tahira said they wanted to show solidarity with the people of Assam and help families rebuild their lives. They added that they hoped their gesture would encourage other individuals and organisations to step forward and support relief efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n This is not the first time the couple has contributed during a crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic they donated to the Maharashtra Chief Minister\u2019s Relief Fund and supported Gulmeher, a Delhi-based organisation that works to empower women waste-pickers and improve conditions for their families.<\/span><\/p>\n Ayushmann, who serves as UNICEF India National Ambassador, has been active in campaigns promoting children\u2019s rights, education and social welfare.
