The Kuki CSO Working Committee (KCWC) of South West Sadar Hills announced a 24-hour total shutdown along National Highway-37 with immediate effect after an armed attack on civilians in Thingkhojang village in Kangpokpi district, Manipur.<\/span><\/h5>\n

The shutdown, the committee said, will affect vehicular movement on the crucial route as part of its protest against the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement, the KCWC condemned the attack as a grave act of violence. It said unidentified armed assailants targeted the village during a Sunday church congregation and that several people, including women and children, were injured. The organisation did not supply further casualty figures in the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The committee also accused security personnel deployed in the area of a lapse, alleging that forces present nearby failed to prevent the attack. These allegations have not been independently verified, and there has been no official response from security agencies to the KCWC\u2019s claims.<\/span><\/p>\n

The KCWC demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and called for a thorough, impartial investigation. It urged both the Central and Manipur governments to provide urgent medical assistance, relief and enhanced security for residents of Thingkhojang and neighbouring areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

As additional pressure, the committee declared non-cooperation with the 86 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) until accountability is established for the alleged security failure. The KCWC said it stands in solidarity with affected families and pressed authorities to act swiftly to restore public confidence and civilian safety.<\/span><\/p>\n
