On 23 January, along with the celebration of Saraswati Puja like the rest of the country, the school organized a photo art gallery exhibition showcasing more than 150 rare species of birds\u2014one of Assam\u2019s richest biodiversity assets\u2014with the aim of enhancing students\u2019 awareness and knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition featured photographs collected over a long period by renowned Assamese photographer Dilip Kumar Pangging, captured across various forest areas and locations of Assam.<\/span><\/p>\n

The display included images of both common and rare indigenous and migratory birds, including Assam\u2019s state bird, the White-winged Duck (Deo Hanh), with their Assamese, English, and scientific names.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition gallery was formally inaugurated by cutting the ribbon by nationally acclaimed playwright and theatre director, senior journalist, poet, and President of the Golaghat District Poets\u2019 Association, Amar Sharma.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his inaugural address, Sharma praised the school for taking such a unique initiative and stated that the photographs would serve as invaluable educational resources for students. He further emphasized that such important photographic materials should be preserved permanently in schools for students\u2019 benefit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme was anchored by school teacher Azanta Talukdar. Photographer Dilip Kumar Pangging also spoke on the occasion, sharing his experiences. Explaining the objectives of the exhibition, Dr. Bedabrat Barhoi, President of Lotus Education and Welfare Foundation and Chairman of the School Managing Committee, delivered a speech. This was followed by the best wishes speech by the School Secretary and Principal, Prabajyot Kaur.<\/span><\/p>\n

Distinguished guests present at the programme included senior actor, noted cultural worker, and President of the Greater Numaligarh Journalists\u2019 Association, Pradip Bora.<\/span>
\nThe welcome address was delivered by the school Head Boy, Vivan Agarwal. All distinguished guests were felicitated with traditional Assamese phulam gamosa.<\/span><\/p>\n

A good number of teachers including Pranamika Saikia, Moonmey Saikia and Rashmi Lama and students of the school, along with a large number of parents attended and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that Dilip Kumar Pangging, a retired senior Food Safety Officer of the Assam Government, is a devoted nature lover who has artistically captured photographs of birds found across various forests and locations of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.<\/span>
\nParents expressed optimism that students have benefited greatly by gaining valuable knowledge about birds through the displayed photographs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Notably, earlier in connection with Children\u2019s Day, Dhansiri Valley Public School had organized a two-day painting and sculpture workshop under the guidance of internationally renowned wonder artist Robin Bar.<\/span><\/p>\n

The concluding programme witnessed the presence of nearly two thousand parents and eminent personalities. The event was graced by chief guests such as internationally acclaimed environmentalist and Assam\u2019s pride, Jadav Payeng, popularly known as the \u201cForest Man” and Robin Bar.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the holistic development of students, Dhansiri Valley Public School continues to provide well-planned academic education alongside special training in digital learning, sports, martial arts, fine arts, dance, and music.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a related development, during the Republic Day celebrations organized by the Bokakhat Sub-Divisional Administration recently, the school\u2019s dance troupe, trained under the supervision of dance teacher Mayuri Pathak, secured second place among all participating by schools and youths in the subdivision.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
