Historic Protest Ignites Demands for Implementation of Article 244(A) in Karbi Anglong<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Earlier today, tribal leaders and representatives from the Diphu regions of Karbi Anglong started their journey towards the national capital, Delhi, with a determined purpose\u2014their aim to advocate for the formal enforcement of Article 244(A), which pertains to the administration of tribal regions and the recognition of tribal self-governance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The protest was initiated by organizations including the Diphu Tribal Youth Association KANCHASDOM, KSA,DSU, and other indigenous groups from the region. As the procession moved through various districts, it drew widespread attention and support from local communities, highlighting the deep-rooted desire for constitutional acknowledgment and the preservation of their unique cultural identities.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to reports, the journey culminated at the Delhi junction, where the leaders were to participate in a demonstration scheduled to take place at the Parliament’s premises on December 15th. <\/span><\/p>\n

This event is expected to feature over a hundred top tribal leaders and representatives, including distinguished figures such as Ajit Timung, Ching Timung, Khorsing Terang, and other prominent personalities from the tribal communities of Karbi Anglong.<\/span><\/p>\n
