I<\/span>n recent years, Karbi Anglong, a district in Assam, India, has witnessed a profound transformation, shifting from a landscape marred by violence to one flourishing with opportunities. The Chief Minister met with six militant organizations that signed a peace agreement in 2021 at the Taralangso Kazir Ranghangpi Guest House during his two days visit in Karbi Anglong. Following this, he participated in various programs throughout the day. On the other hand, discussions were held with former rebel groups, including KLNLF, PDCK, UPLA, and three factions of KPLT.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"In a conversation with journalists, former rebel leader Rezak Dera stated that the discussions regarding the implementation of the MoS agreement, which was finalized on September 4, 2021, were fruitful. He also mentioned that the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the 125th amendment to the Constitution, which involves increasing the number of seats in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to 44, thereby providing political representation to former rebel leaders. The discussion included contributions from former rebel leaders such as I.K. Songbijit, Pradeep Dili, and Rezak Dera.<\/span><\/p>\n
