The footage, captured by a bystander, shows the officer aggressively confronting the delivery agent near the Jail Road traffic point in Fancy Bazar around 6:30 PM. The confrontation reportedly began when the agent allegedly ran a red light, prompting a police officer to pursue and violently apprehend him by the roadside.<\/span><\/p>\n

The video depicts the officer gripping the delivery agent\u2019s neck and shouting threats such as \u201cWhere do you think you are going?\u201d and \u201cI will kill you,\u201d while ignoring onlookers\u2019 attempts to intervene. An eyewitness who recorded the incident claimed the officer threatened them and demanded they cease filming.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response to the incident, DGP Singh declared Inspector Borbora\u2019s behavior unacceptable, resulting in his immediate suspension. Singh has directed the Commissioner of Police in Guwahati to appoint a new officer to the position. Additionally, a departmental inquiry has been launched to investigate the matter further.<\/span><\/p>\n

A police official later attempted to justify the officer\u2019s actions, alleging that the delivery agent had ignored directives to stop and was trying to enter a restricted \u201cNo Entry\u201d zone.
