In their official statement, dated October 30, the Forum reaffirmed its dedication to sustainable development, emphasizing that their protest is not against progress but rather against compromising Dighalipukhuri\u2019s environmental and cultural heritage. They are open to supporting development initiatives that honor the unique character of the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Forum has urged the government to explore alternative solutions to the flyover plan and called for a complete halt to construction until these options are evaluated. They advocate for inclusive decision-making, encouraging public involvement in discussions concerning the project. Despite the Public Works Department being asked to assess alternative solutions, reports suggest construction persists, worrying the Forum about ongoing activities in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The movement, gaining traction among nature enthusiasts, youth, and environmental advocates, has seen nightly vigils at Dighalipukhuri over the past five days.
