The operation, which unfolded around 8 AM in Khatkhati, led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the trafficking of heroin. This decisive action underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to dismantle drug networks in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n According to reliable sources, the incident occurred during a routine police checkpoint near the State Bank of India branch in Khatkhati. Officers conducting the operation stopped a Maruti Suzuki Alto with registration number AS 01 V 7436, traveling from Moshipur towards Arunachal. Upon inspection, the police discovered a significant stash of heroin concealed within 10 soap cases, weighing approximately 117.52 grams in total.<\/span><\/p>\n The arrested individuals have been identified as Arunachal Pradesh residents Nong Irang, aged 42, and Taram Riyan and Biraj Mali, both aged 29. Law enforcement officials have disclosed that investigations are ongoing to uncover further details regarding the supply chain and potential links to larger drug networks.<\/span><\/p>\n The checkpoint operation was led by Bokajan Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rustamraj Brahma, with support from Khatkhati Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nitul Saikia, Sub-Inspectors Jitumoni Saikia and Amar Jyoti Saikia, along with other station staff.
