I<\/span>n a significant stride towards promoting cultural unity and enriching Assam’s diverse heritage, the Assam Tribal Cultural Mahasabha<\/a> has initiated the formation of district committees. The move, which began today, marks an important step in bringing together various tribal communities across the state.<\/span><\/p>\n Under the leadership of Devendranath Basumatary, the President of Assam Tribal Cultural Mahasabha, and Chandrasing Kro, the Chief Advisor and President of Karbi Cultural Society, the Karbi Anglong District Committee was officially formed at Taralangso in Diphu. The event witnessed a strong turnout from various tribal cultural workers, showcasing the collective enthusiasm for this initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n The formation meeting, held at Karbi Peoples Hall in Taralangso, was chaired by Homsing Bey, the Vice President of the Mahasabha. Various cultural workers from different corners of the district attended the meeting. The Karbi Anglong District Committee was formed with Dorsing Dera as its President, signifying a robust step towards cultural integration and representation of the Karbi community.<\/span><\/p>\n As per the resolutions passed during the general meeting held in Dibrugarh in August, a grand cultural festival is scheduled to take place on November 22, 23, and 24 at Taralangso in Diphu. This event aims to bring together cultural troupes from various tribes across Assam, including Karbi, Bodo, Mishing, Tiwa, Rengma Naga, Dimasa, and Kuki. The festival is envisioned as a melting pot of tribal traditions and cultural expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n Chandrasing Kro, the President of Karbi Cultural Society, emphasized the importance of this festival and announced the formation of a reception committee to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
