Singh, representing the Sagolband constituency, mentioned recent decisions to withdraw the Assam Rifles due to their lack of cooperation with the Manipur government and local communities. He recommended a broader removal of central forces if they continue to act as “mute spectators,” suggesting that state forces should take control to achieve peace.<\/span><\/p>\n

The legislator has also advocated for transferring the Unified Command authority to the Manipur government, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, arguing that local leadership could more effectively manage the crisis. Singh criticized the current security arrangements as unsuccessful in halting the persistent violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, Singh called for stringent measures against militant and insurgent groups violating the Suspension of Operations (SOO) agreement. He urged the Central government to revoke these agreements, claiming they exacerbate the violence.
