Reorewa Narzihari, an Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, also condemned the act and called for severe punishment. Multiple organizations, including the Bodo National Students Union and All Assam Tribal Students Union, voiced strong opposition, demanding the accused be hanged to set a stern example. Protesters urged local police to arrest the remaining suspects within 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

The incident comes amidst heightened sensitivity in Assam due to a similar case in Dhing, Nagaon. In Gossaigaon, a gang of around eight men kidnapped two girls; the police have arrested three of the accused. One victim, raped by the kidnappers, remains critical and under medical care. The community\u2019s collective anger has intensified, with calls for stringent punishment for the perpetrators.<\/span><\/p>\n

Local police are actively searching for the other suspects and interrogating individuals connected to the case. The region remains tense as residents and various groups demand justice for the victims and swift action against the accused.
